Music is my passion and I love to hear new music. So I have decided to try and review a new album every month, to give you my take on the latest and greatest music available to us. You will probably notice that my personal taste in music is pretty diverse, however some of my favourite music is more on the heavy side. But don’t let this put you off, I have been known to have a few pop albums in my collection!
So to get this first review out of the way, I will start with a band that I never thought I’d like but have really enjoyed listening to their album over the past month.
The band, in their early 20’s (the lead singer, Luke Pritchard is in 19) hail from Brighton. You can instantly here the brummie accident in Lukes voice that sounds like a poor lost child trying to make money on Grafton street. He hasn’t got the greatest voice in the world, but it suits their sound nicely.
The album is made to SOUND very indie and by the I mean, the way in which it is recorded. From a musicians point of view (as I am), I hate most indie music because I don’t find the musicianship of most of them very inspirational. However, although the sound is very indie, they can actually play which was quite a pleasant surprise.
All in all - I really like this album, there are some very catchy songs on it that I’m sure will reach the top 10 of the UK charts. I expect these guys to do something big in the coming year.
The album Inside In/Inside Out is by The Kooks - Well worth a listen to!!!
