Damien Mulley posted on his blog today about a survey that found Firefox use in Ireland has grown to 38.6%.
For me, that’s a hard statistic to swallow. How they got this figure is beyond me. But they do try to explain their methodology at the bottom of the page:
Translated text (using google translate) “The utilisation ratio of Firefox corresponds to the totality of the visits of Firefox of the period compared to the globality of the visits all confused navigators.”
Not sure what that’s supposed to mean…..
A quick view across some of our most popular client sites statistics show an average of 12-13% Firefox usage. I would imagine this figure is a lot closer to the truth than the surveys mentioned by Damien.
Although I would love Firefox to be the most popular browser used on the web, I think it will be a while yet before it really catches up on Internet Explorer.
