A new content management system has been lauched. The beta release of CushyCMS happened yesterday with TechCrunch offering free invites to it’s readers.
After watching the 10 minute long video on how it can be utilised, I’m not hugely impressed. I can see the benefits from a developers point of view, in that you can have a simple CMS in a lot less time than deploying a full CMS system, but from a clients perspective I don’t see it.
From dealing with many clients over the years, flexibility is what they want and this doesn’t seem to give much. I can’t see why someone would want this when you can pay as little as $140 for something like adobe contribute for example.
Anyway, check it out - maybe it might suit you www.cushycms.com

I gave it a test drive earlier on today and I liked it, a simple solution for allowing edits by the client.
You hit the nail on the head though, it’s a convenience tool for developers, hence the name I guess.
