  Looking at the localities I know, they’re definitely not all fixed cameras. That’s all I know!

  From what is said on the Garda website, it is my understanding that these are only speed enforcement zones, as in, locations where there MAY be speed checks. There is no suggestion as to whether they will be fixed cameras, vans etc… It must be considered that the title of this page “New Speed Camera Locations” may be slightly misleading as there appears to be no evidence to suggest that these locations will actually all have cameras…

  Are those x-y co-ordinates in the speed camera listing supposed to be gps fixes? If they are they are a long way off.

  These are Garda Speed Enforcement Zones available from the Garda web site. You can see a full map of these locations on our web site, Garda Speed Zones. Zoom in on the Google map to see the location/details of the zones.

  There is a rumour that speed cameras have just been deployed in Dublin city centre in that last couple of days – anyone seen/heard anything about this?

  My Radar Detector sniffed out the Gatso Van while driving on the Ballymun Road exactly 3 weeks ago. It saved me.

  The white Van was a 2008 Reg Ford Transit (Gatso Van) clocking dozens of poor drivers. I saw one Gard inside it snapping pictures (to his pleasure). The cops obviously picked an easy target to catch as many people as possible just to fill their quotas. More speeding tickets obviously means more revenue for the Government and the Insurance companies. They would have to pick the Dual Carraigeway with a 50 km/h speed limit…..

  What kind of radar detector did you have? I need to buy one that is of use here in Speedtrap Alley (Dublin). Cheers.

  The basterd in the white van nailed me between the N1 and the M1 at the airport.

  Again…a three land stretch with a 60kmph limit. €80 deux points…OUCH

  i got done on de drimnagh road . They said it was a 50km zone but there was no signs stating that it was a 50 km zone . Do i have an argument to to appeal it .

  From what I can understand we are being fucked up the arse by the government every day at every corner. If they put 600 mobile cameras out there with hungry Garda bustards in them there will not be normal driving around any longer. They are after people’s money to make up what bankers lost in last ten years. We can just forget about using cars and start getting on the fucking Dublin busses. Kiss your cars goodbye.
