The radio waves were filled with more adverts from Ben Dunne this morning. This time, with only a few days to go, Ben Dunne has decided to drop the asking price for placing an advert on BenDunne.com to €1.50. This is clearly a reaction to it’s biggest rival in this space, DoneDeal.ie
What worries me is that this rash decision was most likely in response to all the talk amoung many web professionals, who feel it’s a bad idea. No-one I have spoke to thinks that this site is going to grab much of the market share currently held by the likes of DoneDeal.ie, Gumtree.ie or even Adverts.ie – has Ben only realised now that there are many websites already occupying this space?

The site is not even working. It was working yesterday and this morning but now cant be accessed!!!! You would imagine that if you were spending so much on radio ads, that you would at least ensure the site was able to handle traffic.

Check out the herald!! Official launch of BenDunne.com cancelled. Another failed enterprise. I am begining to wonder how great an entrepreneur is Mr. Dunne, tenderme.ie, sandwich enterprise, benddunne direct, and now bendunne.com. What a waste of money!!

Hi Tom. Looks like the site isn’t going to launch after all, according to this Evening Herald article. Makes you wonder what was going on at all and who was advising him.

@john & @Dave wow that’s crazy!!! Can’t believe it. Well I kinda do, because it was destined for failure – but God who was advising him at all?

This is silly, I know from my working on my own website, that you need to give these things time. Getting people to visit your site is difficult and takes time. My own site – http://www.farmads.ie/, has been going for a year, and it is growing, but slowly.
I think Ben Dunne was obviously not sufficiently committed to the classified ads world.

I wonder what DONEDEAL think of the fact that BEN DUNNE is mentioning them so much in his ads? It is not always about a lower price,as he seems to imagine.

We have been watching this space very closely for obvious reasons given our offering on http://www.pluspoint.ie
I would really like to know who has been advising him on his online strategy. Its bizarre what is going on. The money he has wasted is unbeleivable, what is his strategy? to try and blow the hole out of every market he can.
Watch this space……

It’s crazy, the site is live again and the ads are back on the radio – completely contradicting this statement last week…. http://2bscene.ie/l/75051/

Ben, you have no excuse. Spend more on your website and less crap talking on TV. This is coming from someone with absolutlely no marketing budget and no contacts.
Get it right.

Total waste of money – Tenderme.ie looks like a major flop, makes a few qiud per day.
Ben if you are reading this you need to call the professionals in, not sure who is advising you at the moment but you need to bring them into the board room , point your finger at them and say ” Your Fired ” They are feeding you total crap.
